Does Fitbit Air Track Sleep

After getting a Fitbit Air, the first thing that came to my mind was, can I track sleep on this band, and if yes, then how accurate will it be?

So if you also want to track your sleep, then this article is for you, as I am going to share an honest review about tracking sleep on Fitbit air.

Can you track sleep on Fitbit air?

Yes, you can track your sleep on Fitbit air because this tracker is specially designed for tracking your sleep at night, and this is probably the best selling point of this band.

So I have used many smartwatches and I used to track my sleep while wearing them at night, which was not that comfortable, at least for me. I absolutely hated it, but with this Fitbit I can easily wear it at night without any problem due to its excellent size and comfort.

What sleep data will it actually give you?

So if you sleep at night and wake up in the morning, the sleep data will actually look like what is shown in the given image.

Sleep Data Track Fitbit Air

For example, it will tell you whether you had enough sleep or not, what your sleep duration was, how many times you actually went to bed, fell asleep, and woke up, and so on.

Sleep Quality Track Fitbit Air

The data is super accurate compared to my Samsung Galaxy Watch, and you can even check your sleep quality in the app.

Sleeping Heart Rate on Fitbit Air

They even give it a score, and you can check your sleeping heart rate because it tracks HRV during sleep, so in the morning you can check all the data.

In the Google Health app it will shows you data like this :

  • Sleep Score – an overall number summarizing the night
  • Sleep Stages – light, deep, and REM breakdown
  • Sleep Duration – total time asleep vs. time in bed
  • Sleeping Heart Rate & HRV – useful for tracking recovery
  • Restlessness – how many times you moved or woke briefly

How accurate is it, really?

I earlier used my Galaxy Watch, and if I compare this both device’s sleep data, then yes, the sleep stage detection is lined up very closely in the nights. If you do scrolling on your phone in bed without any moving, then yes, it sometimes logs that too as a sleep onset.

On the other side, it is not a clinical grade sleep study, but yes, if we see it as a consumer based tracker, then it shows good statistics. So you can treat this data as an indication rather than relying on it as a medical reading.

Is this the best sleep tracker in the market?

I would say this is the best device out there for tracking sleep that does not require any subscription. Being able to track your sleep without paying any monthly fee is a big point for me.

Unlike many competitors, they do not charge any fee, but still I would go with Fitbit air over any other tracking band.

Conclusion

This is the best fitness tracker if you are looking to track your night sleep, because this is the smallest and I would say the most comfortable band when it comes to tracking your sleep.
